Rules & Regulations
90 Second
Rule
-
If you are on the grid, you will
get 90 seconds to get onto the track and you will be allowed your position.
-
If you are not on the grid and
your or someone from your team does not inform us that you are on your way
prior to the class going out onto the track, you will still get 90 seconds
to get out onto the track, but you will start in the rear.
Starting the
Race
-
Pole Sitter can take off out of
turn 4, but there should only be side by side passing until the cone by the
flag stand. If you are on the inside, stay on the inside and vice versa, if
you are on the outside, stay on the outside.
-
Pole Sitter sets the pace for the
start of the race. It is the responsibility for the outside pole sitter to
keep up with the pole sitter. We will give you one try, but after that we
will go green.
-
Once the pole sitter passes the
cone at turn 4 the flagger will throw the green flag, even if the pole
sitter doesn’t fire.
-
It is the under the race
directors discretion to put you to the rear if you are the reason the green
flag is not throw. For example, the pole sitter is taking off prior to turn
4 or if the outside pole sitter is taking off prior to the pole sitter
firing or prior to the green flag being thrown or if the racer in 3rd
is pushing the leader. This rule applies to any position.
-
If we can’t get the race started
after 2 official tries, we will go single file.
-
After 2 yellows have been thrown,
we will not throw another yellow on the first lap if you spin on your own.
-
If at anytime, a racer is put to
the rear or doesn’t make it out onto the race track, that particular line
moves forward, there will be no criss crossing. For example, if the pole
sitter goes to the rear the 3rd place position now becomes 1st.
Restarts
·
If there is not one lap complete we will go back to the original
restart the yellow and red flag will come out. It is your responsibility to
know the line up.
·
If there is one lap complete, we will go back to the last
completed lap and it will be a single file start.
·
If you don’t know what position you are supposed to be in, move to
the outside of the line and we’ll put you in the correct position.
·
By the race directors discretion, if there is any kart that does
not slow down to a decent speed during a yellow flag situation, you may be put
to the rear.
·
The leader can fire in between turns 3 & 4.
·
Once the flagger throws the green flag, you may pass. If you pass
anyone prior to the flagger throwing the green flag, you will be penalized two
spots for every position you gain.
Yellow Flag Situation
-
The yellow flag will not be
thrown if you spin on your own and you are not in harms way. The corner
marshals will throw their flag to let other racer know that someone in spun
in that particular corner.
-
Full course yellow is only in
effect when the head flagger throws his yellow or if you see the yellow
light on.
-
If you stall on the race track at
anytime, raise both hands so that we know you are not running.
-
If you raise both hands and you
are not stalled, you will be black flagged and you will receive no points
for that particular race.
-
If you are involved in an
accident, you will start in the rear.
-
If you hit someone and they spin,
but you don’t, the yellow will come out and both people will go to the rear.
-
If at anytime you hit a cone and
the yellow has to come out, you will go to the rear. If someone collects
the cone or spins because of the cone, they will get their position back,
but the person who hit the cone will go to the rear.
Two Spin Rule
·
If you spin on your own two times, you will receive a mechanical
black flag.
·
Be sure to weigh in, otherwise you will receive no points
Move Over
Flag (Blue w/Yellow Strip)
-
Move to the outside of the race
track to let the racers behind you go to the inside of you.
-
If you get the move over flag 2
times and your do not move over, you will be black flagged and will receive
no points.
-
If a kart that is on the lead lap
gets spun out by a lapped kart, the yellow will come out and that racer will
get their position back.
Black Flag –
depending on the severity
-
You will get one warning (rolled
black) then you will be black flagged and you will receive no points for
that particular race.
-
IF the flagger holds the black
flag up to the entire class – this is your one warning!
Unsportsmanlike Conduct
-
ABSOLUTELY NO FIGHTING –
decisions will be made by the race directors depending on the severity.
-
If you decide to take matters
into your own hands, there will be consequences which will be decided at
that particular time, by the race directors.
Last Lap Rule
-
If you push someone out of the
way to gain a position, you will lose that position.
-
If that person spins, there will
be a checkered yellow finish and we will go back to the last completed lap.
Depending on the situation, a decision will be made by the race directors to
choose to put a person to the rear or give them their position back.
Points
-

track, you will receive no points for that race.

the track, but you break prior to the green flag, be sure to weigh in and
you will receive last place points.

first lap is complete you can not restart or fix your kart.
